Famous Air Fried Chicken Copycat

This bluegrass state fried chicken is an institution across America. Royal Oakers, now is not the time to say why Chicken Shack is better- the rest of the country doesn’t get it . I’m focusing on the guy in the white suit. It’s Air fried, so it’s healthier. I don’t have 11 herbs and spices; I have more if you read all the labels. In the air fryer, it will come out extra crispy, and in the oven, like regular. I hope you like it.

Air Fried Famous Chicken:
4 chicken thighs
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs plus 2 tablespoons of water
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup corn starch
Spices:
1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning
1 teaspoon Italian herbs
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika

Cooking spray

If you don’t have an air fryer, preheat oven to 350.

In a gallon zip top bag, add buttermilk and chicken; refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Mix flour and cornstarch with all the spices.

Remove chicken from bag; shake off excess liquid and dip chicken in flour mix.

Dip in egg mixture and back into flour mixture.

Let sit out for 10 minutes.

Add to air fryer and fry for 25-30 minutes or until internal temp is 165.

Serve.
