I got to the grocery late on Father’s Day, and all the things I would have bought were gone. Sucks to be me. I looked and saw chocolate donut holes on the table. I had an idea: I haven’t made bread pudding in a long while. So I added some dried cherries to break up the sweetness and kept the sugar to a low level and baked it until crispy on top. Topped with some whipped cream. I hope you like it.
1 box chocolate donut holes
4 eggs
1 cup half and half
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup dried cherries
Preheat oven to 350.
Cut donuts holes in half.
In a large bowl add eggs, half and half, sugar, and milk and beat.
Add vanilla, cinnamon and cherries.
Add donut holes and let rest for 30 minutes.
Butter ramekin and add batter 3/4 full.
Bake for 50-60 minutes.
Top with whipped cream.
