I have a new “go to” store; it’s A to Z Butcher in Stafford, VA on Route 1. This is an old school butcher with dry-aged steaks, fresh sausage, and all the good things your mega mart doesn’t sell. In this case they have the juiciest bratwurst I have eaten. Great flavor with their IPA brats. I tried them today, but I did make some additions: red onion, mustard, mayo, and Granny Smith apples. The apples cut through the fat. The onion bring a little bite, and mustard because I like mustard on a brat.
1 pound bratwurst, casing removed (from A to Z Butcher)
1 red onion cut in thin slices
1 Granny Smith apple cut in slices
4 slices Munster cheese
1/5 cup mustard
1/5 cup mayonnaise
4 hamburger buns
Slice apples and onions in thin slices.
Form brats into patties.
In a skillet on medium heat, cook brat burgers to 165. Turn only once – you want a good crust.
Assembly:
Bottom bun
Mustard
Bratwurst patty
Munster cheese
Onion slice
Apple slice
Top bun with mayonnaise

Sound delicious and fun! I love the combo of apple and cheese, so I imagine sausage adds some additional yummy flavors.
