Sometimes a mad scientist is playful and whimsical. Plug in the maniacal laugh. I used package cookie mix to save time, but everyone who looked at these said, “That looks like candy corn!” (8 person test). So I have to add some flavor. In the orange layer, I add Grand Marnier and orange zest, and to the yellow layer, I add lemon extract and lemon zest. Now the white top is white chocolate which plays well with the citrus flavors. I hope you like it.
2 packages sugar cookie mix divided
6 tablespoons flour divided
2 sticks butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons Grand Marnier zest from 1 orange
Orange food color
1 teaspoon lemon extract
Zest from 1 lemon
Yellow food color
6 ounces white melting chocolate
Math skills
Batch 1: mix 1 package cookie dough with 3 tablespoons flour, 1 stick butter, 1 egg, and orange food color to preferred color.
Batch two: mix 1 package cookie dough with 3 tablespoons flour, 1 stick butter, and 1 egg. Then remove 1/3 of mixed dough. Then add lemon extract, lemon zest and yellow food color to preferred color to 2/3 dough.
Divide each dough in half then form into long thick strings (see photo). Place a 2-foot piece of parchment paper on counter. Place orange on bottom, yellow next, and white on top. Wrap tightly and refrigerate. Let rest for 30 minutes, but an hour is better.
Heat oven to 375.
Cut cookie into 1/4 inch slices.
Place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake for 9 minutes or untilgolden brown on bottom.
Let cool.
Melt whit chocolate; dip top of cookie.

NOW I SEE IT!—–THE COLORED LAYERS! I was thinking “He put candy corn INTO these cookies?” 😀 Must be delightfully deadly! ❤
