I thought about my grandnieces when I saw this idea online. This is for the four-to-nine year old crowd right before their parents pick them up. It’s cake, pop tarts, and a sugary glaze so they won’t be going down to bed or down for their nap. That will teach your children to give you more notice to baby sit. This will also work for a tea party and that kind of thing. I hope you like it.
1 box vanilla cake mix (use package directions)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 pop tarts
5 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk
2 cups melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Sprinkles
Heat oven to 350.
Mix cake per package directions and add salt and vanilla.
Line a loaf pan with parchment and spray with cooking spray.
Add layer of cake batter; top with 2 pop tarts and repeat two times. Top with remaining cake batter.
Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool for 45 minutes.
Mix melted butter, milk, vanilla, and powdered sugar until smooth.
Place cake on a wire rack over parchment paper.
Pour glaze over cake and top with sprinkles.
Let set for 30 minutes.
