We were having a pot luck for Friendsgiving, and I decided that there wasn’t enough alcohol at these events. How to put fall in a glass or more precisely in a flute? I had seen Bobby Flay do a similar drink a ways back. So apples represent fall, so do cinnamon and apple pie moonshine. Apple cider, brown sugar, and some Prosecco finish off the drink. Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you like it.
2 Granny Smith apples
1/2 cup light brown sugar
6 ounces unsalted butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup apple cider
6 ounces apple pie moonshine
12 ounces apple cider, chilled
12 ounce Prosecco, chilled
Cinnamon sticks
Core apples and cut them into eight pieces.
In a skillet on medium add butter, apples, cinnamon and cider; cook until apples are soft.
Add mixture into a blender and purée.
Let cool.
In a champagne flute add 2 ounces of purée, 1 ounce of moonshine, 2 ounces apple cider; top with Prosecco and finish with a cinnamon stick.
