I tried this for for the first time so this will be more reviews than recipe. I was at aA to Z Meats and there were marrow bones in the display. Are. I got one and it makes great butter for crusty French bread. It was melty and had just enough texture to spread. Now I learned the a few steps should be taken. Bunching up a foil boat to catch the marrow and season liberally. I hope you try it.
8 split marrow bones
Flaked rock salt
Black pepper
Everything Italian seasoning
Garlic cloves
8 slices toasted French bread
Rub toast with garlic cloves.
Heat oven to 425.
Make foil boat to catch melted marrow.
Sprinkle marrow side with salt, pepper, and Everything Italian seasoning.
Place in bones resting on boats on a sheet pan for 20-25 minutes until marrow is almost liquid.
Serve with toast.
