This is something from the old Wines cookbook. Grandma Molly would always leave stuff out or not put the correct amounts. It took me a couple of tries but here is the best I can recreate.
Dry ingredients
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet ingredients
1 1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup (half stick of butter or oil)
1 cup finely chopped or grated Granny Smith apple
2 beaten egg
1 teaspoon apple extract or apple brandy (optional) or vanilla
Cream butter and sugar. add egg add milk milk
Combine flour, baking powder salt.
Mix in spices
Add dry ingredient into wet ingredient until combined do not over mix
Bake in a 5 x 9 loaf pan
Bake at 375 for 45 minutes or until a tooth pick comes out clean.
