Remember when you could get a good cookie at the Mall? When malls still existed and the internet hadn’t killed malls? You can’t get a warm gooey cookie from the Internet, at least not yet. I decided to try and do my own version of that classic. It should bring back memories of you bribing your kids to go to the mall with you (you know you did). I hope you like it.
3/4 cup butter (stick and half)
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups ap flour
2 cups oat flour (see, they’re healthy)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 chocolate bar, grated
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Grate candy bar and set aside
Mix flour, oat flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
Cream butter with sugar and brown sugar for 4 minutes until fluffy
Add eggs
Add vanilla
Add flour mixture in thirds to butter and
mix well
Add grated chocolate and mix
Add chocolate chips and mix
Add nuts if you want
Refrigerate for at least one hour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Using a large cookie scoop or a medium ice cream scoop, place dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet
Bake for 10-12 minutes
