Maple Scones

This is one of my daughter’s favorites.  When she is home, I alway get her some from a vendor at the local farmers market.   So grab some strawberries and a cup of Earl Grey.  I hope you like it.
Scone:
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon maple extract
1 tablespoon melted butter to brush on scones
Glaze:
1 teaspoon maple syrup
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon butter, melted
1 pinch salt
1/2 teaspoon maple extract
2 teaspoons milk
Preheat oven to 425
In a bowl, add flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder; whisk.
Mix cream and maple extract.
Add cream to flour mix until no flour is left on bottom of bowl.
Place dough on a floured surface.
Need 10 times.
With fingers press dough to 3/4 inch thick.
Fashion the dough into about a 5 inch round.
Cut dough into 6 triangles.
Place scones on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
Bake for 16 -20 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool.
Mix melted butter, maple extract, maple syrup ,and powdered sugar until smooth
Top scones with frosting
Serve
