Looking for a quick weeknight dinner? This works great for kids and teens. Or even for kids after sports. You can make this while they’re up taking a shower. Hey, it’s a hot dog, and it’s dough. I know, depending on the age of your children, what you’re thinking: and yes you can substitute ketchup for mustard. I hope they like it.
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup whipping cream at 97 degrees
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
2 teaspoons chives
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup yellow mustard
Preheat oven to 350.
Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, pepper, and salt.
Heat cream in microwave in 10 second bursts until 95-97 degrees.
Add cream to the flour and mix.
Add cheese and the chives.
Wrap hot dogs with 1/2 inch of dough.
Place on a parchment-line baking sheet.
Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Top with mustard and serve.
