Apple Filled Cinnamon Roll

You are doing a brunch and you want another item but you don’t have time to invest. Almost all of us have had the canned cinnamon rolls. How to we update the humble can? We use something fresh and familiar that will make it seem like homemade. Apples love cinnamon so why not cinnamon rolls? Sorta homemade, we have a great brunch dish. I hope you like it.

1 package canned cinnamon rolls
3 Granny Smith apple’s peeled cored and cut in chunky pieces
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons of butter
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup apple juice
1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water

In a skillet on medium add butter

Add brown sugar and melt

Add the apples, cinnamon and lemon juice

Add cornstarch and water mix and thicken

Cook for 5 minutes

Preheat oven to 375

Spray muffin pans with cooking spray

Flatten cinnamon rolls to fit muffin tray

Top with apple mixture

Bake for 23-28 minutes

Serve
