It’s Christmas time, and gingerbread is in order. So pull out your gundrop buttons and put on the Christmas tunes. I hope you like it.
Dry ingredients:
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon finely ground white pepper
Wet ingredients:
12 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 egg
Frosting:
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk (maybe 3)
1/2 teaspoon bourbon vanilla
Preheat oven to 350.
In bowl 1, mix flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, and pepper.
In bowl 2, cream butter with brown sugar..
Add molasses and egg and beat for 2 minutes.
Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients in 3 parts; mix until no flour shows..
Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Make 1 1/2 inch balls.
Place on parchment lined baking sheet. Flatten balls to about an inch thick.
Bake for 9-11 minutes.
Cool for 30 minutes.
Combine frosting ingredients and drizzle over cookies.
