Texas Twinkie

Here is an idea for spring sports watching. The Texas Twinkie. Texas is famous for it’s spicy food and the hearty fare. This appetizer is spicy, smokey, with just a little sweetness to give you some relief. Surprise your friends and family. Serve this at your next game time. The best part is the simplicity: 4 ingredients. I hope you like it.

8 large jalapeño peppers 🌶
8 ounces cream cheese
4 ounces pepper jack cheese
8 strips bacon

Preheat oven to 400.

Grate pepper jack cheese .

Cut jalapeño in half lengthwise and remove seeds and ribs.

Mix cream cheese and pepper jack cheese.

Fill jalapeño with cheese mixture. and cover with second half.

Wrap in bacon and secure with a toothpick.

Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 22-26 minutes or until bacon is brown and crisp.
