Asian Cranberry Sauce

I’m decided to change up my cranberry sauce this year and decided to go with Asian flavors. Now, it happens that I’m doing an orange glaze on my turkey, so life works out. We start with tart cranberries, add deep brown sugar, warm 5 spice, sweet orange, and spicy gochujang. I hope you like it.

2 cups cranberries
3/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup brown sugar
6 ounces mandarin oranges
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon goghujang paste
1 teaspoon Chinese 5 spice

Add cranberries, brown sugar, orange juice, hoisin, goghujang paste, cinnamon, and 5 spice to a 2-quart sauce pan.

Cook on medium until mixture boils. Cook until all the berries pop, stirring occasionally; cook about 10 minutes.

Add orange as and stir.

Let cool. Serve.

Leave the canned stuff at the store.
