Traditional Eastern European holiday dessert. A simple pastry filled with a variety of fruit jellies and jams, and baked to a wonderful golden brown. I added some spice to the dough for more flavor. Happy holidays, I hope you like it.

2 cups flour
2 sticks butter
6 ounces cream cheese
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon ginger
3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup apricot jam
1/4 cup apple butter
1/4 cup Erin’s Elderberry’s elderberry jelly
1/4 cup whatever jelly you want to use

Preheat oven to 400.

In bowl 1 mix butter and cream cheese until smooth.

In bowl 2 mix flour, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.

Slowly beat in flour mixture into the butter mixture.

Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Roll out dough into 1/8 inch and cut 3 x 3 squares.

Add a teaspoon of jelly in center of squares.

Fold over 2 opposite corners and pinch together.

Slightly fold over two remaining corners to block jelly from running out.

Bake for 17-22 minutes until golden brown.

Let cool and dust with powdered sugar.
