This one is for the folks whose kids don’t have all of their permanent teeth yet. That is because of the large amount of sugar I’m using. My brother has two adorable grand kids who just love cotton candy, so this one is for them or for grand parents who want to sugar up the little ones and then hand them back to their parents. Payback for breaking curfew! Now, a big shout out to Abner B’s Ice Cream in Stafford and Fredericksburg, VA. I hope you like it.
2 cups cotton candy ice cream (Abner’s Ice Cream), divided.
1/2 cup whole milk
3 whole eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 loaf brioche bread
1 bag cotton candy (fresh would be better, but I couldn’t find any)
Butter for cooking.
Cut brioche into slices and allow to sit on a rack until the ice cream thaws. About two hours.
Let ice cream melt. About 2 hours.
To one cup of melted ice cream, add milk, eggs, and vanilla and mix.
Dip bread in mixture.
In a skillet on medium add butter; heat until it starts to bubble.
Add dipped bread and cook until brown. Flip and brown on other side.
