You have probably had a frozen French bread pizza. Cheese, maybe a few pepperoni, some sauce. Ok if you are hungry but not going to satisfy you. So here are my upgrades: plain mozzarella has been cast aside for burrata cheese which is mozzarella cheese covered ricotta cheese. Arugula for a little peppery bite. Everything Italian seasoning. Canned diced tomatoes. Chorizo sausage which is not in any way Italian, but if you prefer spicy Italian sausage, go for it. Lastly caramelized onions. This is all on a toasted hogie roll. I hope you like it.
4 hoagie rolls
1 pound chorizo
1/2 onion, sliced thin
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 bag arugula
4 burrata balls
Everything Italian seasoning
Heat oven to 350.
Cut hoagie roll in half and toast.
Add oil and onions to a skillet and caramelize.
In a skillet on medium heat brown chorizo.
Assembly:
Split hoagie roll
Caramelized onions
Arugula
Burrata
Tomatoes
Everything Italian spice
Chorizo
Bake for 8-10 minutes.
Serve.
