I did a St. Louis gooey butter cake a few years back, and I decided that it needs to be a cookie. Soft and chewy with the rich flavor of butter cake. I hope you like it.
8 ounces cream cheese
1 stick butter
8 ounces sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups powdered sugar
Heat oven to 375.
In bowl 1 mix together butter and cream cheese.
Add sugar and cream together.
Add egg and vanilla and mix.
In bowl 2 mix flour, baking powder and salt.
Add bowl 2 into bowl 1 in 3 installments.
Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.
Place powdered sugar in bowl.
Make little dough balls 1 1/2 inch and roll in powdered sugar.
Bake for 10 – 12 minutes.
