I have combined the classic sandwich with a burger. I start with with a challah bread based toasted add a burger top it with ham, Gruyère cheese and parmesan cheese then some Dijon mustard. Simple but tasty. I hope you like it.
4 slices challah bread
2 1/3 pound burger patties
Salt, pepper, garlic powder
4 ounces Gruyère cheese grated
2 ounces parmesan cheese grated
4 slices thinly sliced ham
4 tablespoons Dijon mustard
4 tablespoons butter
In a large skillet add burger patties and cook to desired doneness 165 for store bought 150 in you grind it your self or have a trusted butcher.
Add ham to second skillet on medium heat and top with grated cheese.
Butter bread on one side and add to skillet on medium butter side down skillet.
While cooking bread add Dijon mustard to bread.
Add burger to bread and ham and cheese stack.
