Air Fryer Calamari

I wanted to cut out some calories but still wanted calamari, so I went with the air fryer. Two keys on this recipe are buttermilk and the combination of flours. I used corn starch, regular flour, and also rice flour for a good crunch. The spices are paprika, garlic powder, and Old Bay seasoning. I hope you like it. Note: there is also some air fried conch in the picture which were tasty also.

16 ounce squid tubes and tentacles
12 ounces buttermilk
4 ounces corn starch
8 ounces flour
8 ounces rice flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
Cooking Spray

Place squid in buttermilk for 30 minutes.

In a pie pan mix corn starch, rice flour and regular flour.

Add paprika, Old Bay, and garlic powder and mix.

Rinse calamari and toss in breading mix.

Spray air fryer with cooking spray.

Add squid, spray with cooking spray. and air fry for 9 minutes at 360 degrees, shaking once.

(Sorry for the lack of photos.)

If you use the conch, make sure to pound it good or it will be tough like a rubber band.
