Red Velvet Brownies

Summertime is brownie time because regular chocolate melts. Red velvet will get you noticed both for good or bad; but ignore the haters. Brownies rule! Plus the white chocolate chips will distract them. I hope you like it.

1/2 cup butter at room temp
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 once red food color
1 teaspoon vanilla (no one’s watching – add more if you want)
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons dark cocoa powder
2 large eggs
1 1/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cups white chocolate chips

Frosting
8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
8 ounces butter at room temperature
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 cups powdered sugar

Heat oven to 350.

In bowl 1 cream butter and sugar.

Add beaten eggs and water.

Add food color and vanilla and mix.

In bowl two add cocoa powder, salt, and flour.

Mix bowl 2 into bowl 1 and mix.

Add white chocolate chips.

Grease 8 x 8 baking pan.

Bake 35–40 minutes or until center is firm.

Let cool.

In bowl mix butter, vanilla, cream cheese, and salt.

Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time and mix.

Add all the powdered sugar and mix until smooth.

Frost brownies.

Serve.
