I did this as a lark for my crash test dummies. I cheated in every way and took every short cut I knew. I used the Cafe’ Dumond beignet mix and the Nutella. Simple. 4 ingredients including cooking oil. They don’t know it’s a mix they figured out the Nutella but it took no time at all.
2 cups Cafe’ Dumond beignet mix
7 ounces water
8 ounce Nutella
2 quarts cooking oil
Mix water with beignet mix until combined.
Move to a floured board.
Kneed to 4 times folding and rolling.
Roll out to 1/8 inch.
Heat oil to 350.
Cut with pizza cutter into 2 1/2 inch squares.
Add 8 squares to oil when bottom gets golden brown. Flip and brown other side.
Remove to paper towel.
Let cool for 10 minutes.
With a pastry bag and tip fill beignet with Nutella.
Top with powdered sugar.
Serve.
