1 pound calamari cleaned and cut tubes into 1/2 inch rings
If the tentacles are large cut them down
Dredge
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup corn meal
2 tablespoons old bay seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Mix all dry ingredients together
Dredge calamari in flour mixture until fully coated.
Oil for deep fryer or an electric skillet heat to oil (I use canola) 350 make sure you have enough oil. Make sure the oil is at temp.
The tentacles will spit because they have a high water content.
Fry 10 – 15 pieces at a time (don’t over fill the pan.
Fry until golden brown about 4 minutes turning once
Serve with cocktail sauce or tartar sauce.
