My friend Lynn asked if I had a recipe for bourbon balls so I went through Grandma Molly’s old stuff and found this recipe. Grandma was always very jolly when she made these and after seeing the amount of bourbon used I think I know why. Lynn said they were a hit so here it is.
1 box vanilla wafers crushed
1 cup ground pecans
1 cup powdered sugar
2 cup powdered sugar for rolling
2 tablespoon cocoa
3 tablespoon Karo
syrup
1/2 cup bourbon
Mix the wafers pecans 1 cup of the powdered sugar and cocoa powder mix well
Mix the bourbon and the karo syrup in a small bowl
Add the bourbon mix to the wafer mix and until it all comes together
Make balls roll them into the 2 cups of powdered sugar and let chill for 1 to 2 hours
