Kentucky Hot Brown

This dish  is classic Louisville,  In my mid-spent youth I would go to the Derby with my brother Mike.  Mike found out that I came in handy because I was good at picking horses.  If we won( which we would) we would go out to dinner and I found two dishes that I liked this is one is one of those two.  The classic is an open faced sandwich which means sit down with a knife and fork.  That’s no good for football food.  So I worked on making portable and the flavor have multiple notes.  It’s not the classic way this dish is done but what in out history makes you think I’m capable of that.  Thanks for the help Jack the official taste tester.

The caramelized onions take this right over the top for me. This is a combination I have not seen and looks wonderful! Thanks for sharing. And the part about what you are capable of is very funny 🙂
