Hey Elves who bake in a tree- betcha don’t use brown butter and maple syrup in your pecan sandies. I do. Hope you like it.
1 cup brown butter, cooled
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons maple syrup
2 teaspoons water
1 teaspoon maple extract
2 cups sifted flour
1 cup chopped pecans
6 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 pinch salt
Preheat oven to 325.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add water, maple syrup, and maple extract.
Add flour and salt and mix.
Add pecans and mix.
Form into 2-inch balls then flatten top with a measuring cup (don’t press too hard – you’ll break it!).
Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake for 18-20 minutes.
Place powdered sugar in bowl.
Roll cookies in powdered sugar.
Serve.
That looks pretty tempting. I’m going try gluten-free version. I love because and will find any excuse to eat them. Hope you’re having a good weekend.
