I know this recipe is supposed to have a banger, but I am not subject to the crown. I used beef sausage from Ovoka Farms for this recipe, took a couple of other liberties like wrapping the sausage in prosciutto and provolone cheese before encasing it in the puffed pastry. Then there is the marinara sauce to dip in. I hope you like it.
1 pound beef Italian sausage from Ovoka Farms
1/4 pound provolone cheese
1/4 pound prosciutto
2 sheets puffed pastry
8 ounces marinara sauce
1 bunch Italian parsley
Cook sausage for 10 minutes in water on medium high heat. Let cool.
Defrost puff pastry.
Cut pastry in half lengthwise.
Wrap sausage with prosciutto and provolone (4 thin or two thick slices)
Lay out puff pastry.
Lay sausage in middle of puff pastry.
Wrap tightly or the cheese will leak. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.
Heat air fryer for 10 minutes at 400.
Spray pastry with cooking spray.
Cook sausage rolls for 9 minutes at 400 degrees; turn over and cook for 9 minutes or until golden brown.
Heat marinara in microwave for 3 minutes.
