Here is a hidden gem in Stafford, VInginia. I went for the Sunday tasting (every week at 2) and got some great treats. This store focuses on Eastern European fare from 18-hour cold smoked chicken (which was the best cold chicken ever) to caviar (sturgeon, salmon, and pike) simply served on bread. Also, we enjoyed a delicious chicken croquette.

They have hundreds of items from the Eastern block counties including more pierogi varieties than I have ever seen anywhere. They also have a very impressive selection of cured meats. The shelves have a lot of canned goods and dried selections like pasta. The dessert case was full of European favorites. The prices were in line with mega markets.

So, if you are driving by Stafford on I 95, look them up on a Sunday afternoon or any day if you want a unique experience.
