I’m cheating pinwheels

Making these from scratch takes a couple of days and a lot more effort.
These take less time and taste great.

2 package Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix
2 sticks butter softened not melted
2 eggs
2 tablespoon flour
1/4 cup dark Dutch processed Cocoa
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder

Take 1 package of cookie mix and add cocoa mix
Add 1 1/2 of baking powder mix
With mixer add butter and egg mix
Add cocoa mixture mix
Form into a disk refrigerate for 2 hours

In bowl add second cookie mix, flour and baking powder
In bowl mix egg and butter
Add cookie mix and flour mix
Form into a disk refrigerate for 2 hours

On parchment paper roll cocoa dough to a 1/4 inch thick rectangle

On parchment paper roll vanilla dough to 1/4 inch rectangle

Using the parchment place the vanilla dough on the cocoa dough removing the top layer of parchment
Using the parchment roll up the
Combined dough into a tight roll
Pulling and rolling the parchment on itself.

When rolled cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 375

Cut into 1/4 in slices
Place on parchment lined baking sheets
Bake for 8 to 9 minutes or until bottom is golden brown.

Place on a cooling rack to cool
