This is a small batch recipe. I always used to have this every time I went the Cracker Barrell they use more salt which is why I love it
1 pound cube steak or thinly pounded round steak
1 cup canola oil
1 cup flour plus 2 tablespoon
1 3/4 cups whole milk
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon season salt
2 tablespoon butter
Preheat oven to 350
In one large pie pan mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, paprika mix well
In second pan mix 3/4 cup milk and egg.
Take 4 oz portions of steak and sprinkle with salt and pepper place in egg/milk mixture then into flour mixture then back into milk/egg and then into flour press flour into meat
Heat oil in a vast iron skillet to 325
Brown meat on both sides about 2 to 3 minutes remove keep warm in oven
Remove oil except 2 tablespoons and butter
Add flour cook for 4 minutes to slightly brown stirring constantly add milk stir until thickens
Remove steak from oven and plate pouring gravy on top
Serve with mashed potatoes
