Alligator Nuggets

You never know what you’ll find in my freezer. Today we found alligator so let’s make gator nuggets. We’re going to use Louisiana flavors bold and spicy. I made them crunchy in the air fryer after some time in buttermilk to make them tender. Here is the real key pound the with a mallet to make them tender. I hope you like it.

1 pound alligator fillet meat silver skin removed

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup cornflower

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup flour

1 tablespoon creole seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Remoulade sauce for dipping

Cut alligator into 1 1/2” pieces.

Pound alligator at least 3 times each side.

Add alligator to buttermilk. Let soak for 30 minutes.

In a pie pan mix cornflour, panko and flour in a pie pan then add creole and garlic powder.

Add alligator and coat completely.

Heat air fryer to 380 for 4 minutes.

Spray with cooking spray.

Add alligator and cook for 6 minutes.

Turn over.

Cook for 5-6 minutes.

Serve with remoulade.
